How to move a Fitbit Account to a Google Account

Before you or your family can move to Google accounts, your children must update their account or be included as part of a Google Family group. Here’s how:

1. For each child over the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your country), open their Fitbit profile in kid view and have them upgrade their account to reflect their age as a teen. For instructions, visit How do I manage my child in the Fitbit app?
2. After updating, your child will have a standard Fitbit account and can move to a Google Account on their own.
3. If you still find your child's Today tab in the Fitbit app, log out and sign in again with your Fitbit credentials.
4. Try again to move yourself and the younger members of your family to Google accounts.

1. If you created a Google Account for your child with an adult’s date of birth due to past technical limitations, this birthday now needs to be changed:

1. Sign in to your child’s Google account.
2. In a browser window, sign in to your Google Account.
3. Click Personal Info Birthday.
4. Update the birthday Save.

2. If you're the main guardian in your Fitbit family and you're the family manager of your Google family group, but your child is in a different Google family group: 

• Ask the family manager of the other family group to transfer your child's account supervision to you. For more information, open the Google help article Transfer supervision.
• After the account is transferred, try again to move your family from Fitbit to Google.

3. If you've never created a Google family group before, and your child is part of a different existing family group: 

• Create a new Google family group.
• Ask the family manager of the other family group to transfer your child's account supervision to you. For more information, open the Google help article Transfer supervision.
• After the account is transferred, try again to move your family from Fitbit to Google.

If you're the main guardian in your Fitbit family and you're part of an existing Google family group but aren't the family manager of that group (for example, you're a parent or a family member):

1. Leave your current Google family group.
2. Restart the steps to move your family from Fitbit to Google accounts.
3. Create a Google Account for your child. A new family group is also created automatically, and you'll become the family manager of that group.

Your child already has a Google Account but is in a different family group

1. Leave your current Google family group.
2. Ask the family manager of the other group to transfer supervision of your child's account to you.
3. After the account is transferred, a new Google family group is created and you'll become the family manager of that group. For more information, visit the Google help article Transfer supervision.

1. If your Fitbit family has more than 6 people, remove some child accounts. For instructions, refer to How do I manage my child in the Fitbit app?
   Note: If you remove child accounts, data associated with those accounts is deleted.
2. Move yourself and your children to Google accounts.
