At Fitbit, our goal is to help people live active, healthier lives. We believe access to healthy, safe, and humane working conditions is one of the most fundamental rights that should be afforded to every individual. We are committed to providing and maintaining such conditions for our employees, our contingent workers, as well as the employees and contingent workers of our value chain business partners have access to such conditions.
We understand that respecting human rights is an essential part of our commitment to responsibly and sustainably operate our business. Our approach to human rights is rooted in our company’s mission and borrows from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
We strive to continually evolve our business practices to ensure we are putting people first. For example, we are members of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), which is the world's largest industry coalition dedicated to corporate social responsibility in global value chain operations. As such, we have aligned our Supplier Code of Conduct with the social, environmental and ethical industry standards prescribed by the RBA. Self-educating materials of our Supplier Code of Conduct are made available to our employees and value chain business partners. We also use due diligence as a means to identify any areas of risk in our value chain. When risks are identified, we are committed to provide for, or cooperate in, any necessary remediation.
We have a compliance hotline that provides a confidential and anonymous means of reporting any concerns that may arise (see http://www.fitbit.ethicspoint.com/). We have an established process by which any such reports are reviewed and properly investigated.
We believe this focus on human rights is just one part of our commitment to delivering products and services that have a positive impact on the health outcomes of our community.
